The website consists of a large amount of content, with an impressive online archive of exhibitions and articles. This is a place for in-depth reading—but also a place where you would look for the latest news and necessary information before visiting the Art Centre. To ease the navigation and information flow, the front-page is designed as an information board: Without leaving the front-page you'll get the latest news, opening hours, information about the exhibitions on display, and what other facilities that are open to the public. The menu system is designed to give visitors a good overview of the entire content, and a smooth navigation throughout the website. The website is responsive and will fluidly adapt to any screen size.
Photographs are an important part of the Art Center's communication platform and visual branding. The profile includes photographs of art installations and exhibitions, exterior-(building) and interior (exhibition space, bookshop, café), as well as people in interaction with the art works. (All pictures shown in this article is photographed by Nina Ansten).
The Art Centre is located in an old factory space from 1886. The exhibition space is approximately 1800 m2 and covers four floors. The Art Centre also houses a specialist bookstore and a Café. At present, there is a program of four different exhibitions each season, on display from May to October.
Vestfossen Art Centre was established by the artist Morten Viskum in 2003. The former cellulose factory has been transformed into a magnificent exhibition space. With its unique and rough character the building itself provides an interesting historical frame for the artistic expressions of our time.
The Art Centre's administration is run by Executive Director Lars-Andreas Tovey Kristiansen, and Artistic Director Morten Viskum.
